NYC Mayor’s Proposal of Ban on High Sugary Drinks Strongly Supported by Health B

It has been recently revealed that ban proposed by Mayor of New York City Mr. Michael Bloomberg has been strongly supported by the city’s health board.

Previous reports suggest that the mayor subjected the proposal this Tuesday so as to curb the increased problem faced due to obesity.

It has been reported that the mayor proposed to ban the sale of drinks rich in sugar contents, at restraints, food eateries, movie theaters and also food courts.

He subjected that the established food eateries across the city should be restricted to sell a limit of these high-calorie drinks, including cola, lemonades. They should be allowed to sell not more than 16-ounces of a drink, in comparison of 20-ounces.

Moreover, he said, “I don’t like the idea that some restaurants could continue to offer people bottomless cups of soda, with free refills”.

However, at the same time, he notified that people will be permitted to buy the drink again. Moreover, he emphasized that he has not included any restriction imposed on milk products, including, milk shakes. People can consume the product to the limit they wish to.

However, a few fast food companies have opposed the proposal. However, for the proposal to become a law, it is necessary that a government body approves it.
