A large number of Israeli visitors arriving in India have concerned health officials, forcing them to suggest a rabies vaccine for them, a recent report has unveiled.

Concerns have come after a case of an England woman, who faced death after her return to her nation. It has been revealed that she had got bitten by an infected dog in India and had not got a treatment for the same.

Investigations were conducted after the discovery of the case, which found that a dog in the south west of a village, located on the northern Golan Heights near Moshav Odem, was positive for the virus.

Rabies is a deadly disease, told health experts, which can be prevented with a proper dose of vaccination.

The findings have led the health ministry suggest vaccination against rabies not only for outsiders, but also for other dogs. Dog owners have been asked to get their vaccinated as they are also at a risk.

It has also been affirmed by the ministry that the travellers and visitors to jungles or treks and on the Golan Heights should be well alerted and informed about the incident.

Vaccine shots can be availed by them at all clinics in the country, the ministry added.
