Pippie to Go for Tests of New Skin

It has been revealed in a recent report that a small girl Pippie Kruger of age 3 years, who had last week undergone a surgery for a new skin, is to be tested for her recovery tonight.

Pippie had suffered severe burns on New Year's Eve when a flammable gel held by her father to light a braai fire suddenly exploded. Almost 80% of her body had been burnt in the incident, the report says.

While previously doctors had simply answered that the girl would survive for short. She successfully underwent the landmark transplant surgery the past week and showed a sign of recovery too.

Now, in order to check whether or not her new skin is remedial, plastic surgeon Dr. Ridwan Mia has decided to conduct an assessment at around 5 in the evening.

The girl would be taken to a theatre for the same, since the prevention of risk of an infection needs a sterile environment. Although, she would be kept in sedation on a ventilator, her bandages would be replaced fresh ones so as to keep her limbs protected.

"It is very easy to be complacent at this stage but we have to be vigilant and make sure that the graft is looked after and nurtured", affirmed Mia.
