PIP Breast Implants Are Not Risky in the Long While

A new study conducted by a team of researchers from the National Health Service's (NHS) Medical Directors group says that the claims regarding faulty PIP breast implants are somewhat wrong, as per a recent report.

It is being said by the team that the implants, manufactured by the now obsolete French company PIP, are harmful but not toxic in the long-run.

A global concern had occurred after several thousands of women in the US, i. e. more than 400,000 women had received these implants. The reason was low-grade silicon that caused them to suffer severe pain and a rupture causing swollen lymph glands.

While earlier it was being suggested that all those women should get them removed by the NHS. "We have been determined to look thoroughly at all available evidence so we are able to give them the best clinical advice possible", said Professor Bruce Keogh, the NHS group's leader.

Since, a fear had arisen that there is a risk of rupture by 15 to 30% in a ten-year period. It is now being affirmed by the review group that the silicone gel contained by the implants do not risk one of breast cancer in a long while.
