In the wake of making people aware about the potential consequences of products having 3-dimethylamylamine (DMAA), a public warning has been sent recently. It has been made clear by the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) that the questioned DMAA products can have serious consequences including high blood pressure and vomiting.
There have been reports indicating that there have been cases heard in the same context in Australia and that’s what calls for all the more attention before it’s too late. While there are investigation going on to track down such products, it is all the more imperative that corrective measures are being taken to make sure that no more such cases are reported.
It was found during the investigation, that products- Noxpump, 3-D explosion, Beta-Cret, PreSurge, 1 MR, Cyroshock, Jack3D, Mesomorph, Neurocore, Oxyelite powder and Hemo Rage Black- were found positive for DMAA out of the 12 total products examined.
There are also discussions going on about categorizing DMAA as unhealthy and unsafe and for the same, the Advisory Committee on Medicines Scheduling is expected to take the final call soon. There is need to sort this matter soon so that there is no potential side effect observed in any one more.
