Torbay's Food Outlets Being Rated Over Hygiene Parameters

In a recent report, it has been claimed that the Food Standards Agency is giving ratings to food outlets across Torbay in terms of food hygiene. It was claimed that some 200 food outlets across Torbay were given thumbs up under a national Food Hygiene Rating Scheme.

There is need for food outlets to maintain a safe level of food quality so that no one gets affected by unhygienic food. There can be green and black ratings seen on restaurants, pubs and takeaways, which would help consumers, decide where to eat. As per the scheme, the food quality would be rated on a scale from five for "very good" to zero indicating “urgent improvement”.

There have been efforts made to ensure that food hygiene standards are being raised, thereby making things all the more better for consumers. “The scheme has clearly given customers some food for thought and establishments have seen noticeable effects because of their ratings”, said Cllr Robert Excell, Torbay Council's Executive Lead for Safer Communities and Transport, while claiming that businesses are trying to get the best rating under the new scheme.

It is believed that this move would be able to make things all the more easier for both consumers and businesses.
