How justified it appears to force fed an anorexic patient? This is what most of the people are thinking while Mr. Justice Peter Jackson ruled that the 32-year-old woman in Wales must be force fed so that she can live, despite death being her sole wish.

“We love her dearly, but feel our role should be to fight for her best interests, which, at this time, we strongly feel should be the right to choose her own path, free from restraint and fear of enforced re-feed”, said the parents of the woman in question.

She has been crashing her diet since the age of 11 and for the last one year, she has not eaten any solid food, thereby pushing her health to the stage that she didn’t had any option but to wish for death. It is believed that had the lady eaten well enough, she would have been fine today. There is need to give the lady a chance to live instead of bending to her wishes. The woman is believed to be not in the right senses to make any rational judgment about her and that’s why others would have to give her a chance to live.

This case has sent a clear message to others that there is need for one and all to have a healthy diet instead of punishing the body to such extent for no good reason.
