Chemicals found in Baby Bathing Products Expose Infants to Marijuana

Doctors at a North Carolina Hospital were quite shocked to see a large number of babies getting exposed to an active product being found in marijuana. A study was also being conducted on the same and reason for it was revealed.

The study was carried out by University of North Carolina and was being led by Dr. Catherine Hammett-Stabler. It was revealed that chemicals known as polyquarternium-11 and cocamidopropyl betaine, present in baby soaps and shampoos led children to get diagnosed positive for THC.

"We went up to the nursery, followed the nurses and the staff around to identify everything that was done, everything that was essentially touching those babies' skins”, said Stabler. Stabler further affirmed that it was quite shocking to know that even branded companies like Johnson and Johnson was having such chemicals in their product.

Some of the other companies that were also found to be having such chemicals were CVS Night-time Baby Bath, Aveeno Baby Wash & Shampoo and Bedtime Bath being manufactured by Johnson & Johnson.

Dr. John Spangler, who works at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, was of the view that testing any sort of infection through urine is a good way to keep children free from any disease.
