In a recent report, it has been confirmed that Footballer Fabrice Muamba would be honored with an honorary doctorate. It would be given by the University of Bolton. "Fabrice is an exceptional young man in his own right but he will receive his honorary doctorate to celebrate and recognise the work of the teams who rushed to his aid”, said University vice chancellor Dr. George Holmes, who claimed that this decision was taken to applaud the work done by the medical teams who saved his life this year.
It is known that he had witnessed a very crucial medical urgency when his heart stopped beating for some 78 minutes once he was found unconscious on ground during an FA Cup match this year.
In response to the honor being given to him, the man has all words of thanks to the university. He also thanked those paramedics and medical teams of Bolton Wanderers and Tottenham, ambulance personnel, and others at the London Chest Hospital who helped him save his life at that time. It was indeed nothing less than a shock for him and his family when his heart stopped suddenly.
However, doctors were shocked to see how the 24-year-old player made amazing recovery, as he was all set to walk out of hospital after staying there for some one month.
