It was nothing less than a life time opportunity for Tracey Finucane, Gay Johnson and Therese Rogers, when they were called to meet the founder of the McGrath Foundation, Glen McGrath. It was to be held during the official launch of the connectpink website, which is a social media platform for women to interact with other women throughout Australia.
The three breast cancer survivors got the invitation from Cootamundra’s Gloria Schultz, wife of Member for Hume Alby, at the Lake George Winery near Canberra last Friday. They had a lot to share with each other as far as their experience with breast cancer is concerned. The trio had a great time talking to the legend after the launch was over. “Glen really made the effort to work the room and speak to everyone in attendance, he was so lovely and a pleasure to meet”, said Tracey, who has become quite close to other two while they met at this event.
It is known that Glen’s late wife Jane had also lost her life due to breast cancer in 2008 and that’s what made him realize the relevance of imparting awareness of the same.
By making donation to the McGrath Foundation, one can do their bit towards a noble cause, which will help saving one’s life in some or the other way.
