Different But Stringed

They are different, yet are locked in proximity. It seems to be a love story, but is not, as the objects, which are closely linked are two planets. It has been recently found that NASA’s Kepler Mission has found two new planets, which are different composition and structure, but are closely linked to their parent star.

One of the two planets is known as super-Earth’ and second one is called as ‘Neptune-like’. The first planet is 1.5 times larger than the earth and for this reason, it is said to be super earth. On the other hand, second planet was named as Neptune-like’ as it was a gaseous planet and boasts of mass, which is eight times more than the earth.

Both the planets revolve around each other and are said to be 30 times closer to each other than any other pair in the universe. “The planetary system reported in this paper is another example of an ‘extreme’ planetary system that will serve as a stimulus to theories of planet migration and orbital rearrangement”, said the study researchers.

Kepler Mission is active since 2009 and its main motive was to find planets, which look like Earth and have potential to support life.
