Recently, researchers of Iowa University have claimed of having found a unique way of treating obesity. The researchers conducted a study over mice and found that the waxy peel of the apple boosts muscles and brown fat.

Previously, the researchers were of the view that only infants are blessed with brown fat which diminishes as they grow up. However, recently, they have found that brown fat can be produced in the body with the help of apple peel. The brown fat is good for health as it helps in keeping body fit and slim.

Brown fat not only helps in reducing obesity but it also helps in preventing diabetes. Obesity usually results from poor lifestyle. But, in some circumstances it could trigger because of genetic defects. Obesity can cause life threatening diseases and therefore, it is necessary to keep obesity under control.

During the study, the researchers found that the peel of an apple contains ursolic acid which helps in reducing obesity. The researchers of the study were reported saying, “….However, we were surprised to find that ursolic acid also increased brown fat, a fantastic calorie burner”.

It is hoped that the findings of the researchers would help in finding better ways of reducing the growing menace of obesity.
