On a serious note, it has been revealed that highly personal information of more than 100 patients got misplaced in NHS Grampian. The records included clinical notes, drug reports and neonatal care data.

In addition, it has been revealed that NHS Grampian is not the only trust, which has lost its patients’ data, as there are many other organizations as well. Some of the trusts, which have lost their data, are NHS Lanarkshire, NHS Forth Valley, Greater Glasgow and NHS Clyde.

Scottish Government has said that they have been looking into the matter, and are quite concerned to know such things are taking place in NHS trusts. Such mistakes are completely unacceptable and they will make sure that respective health boards give them due reasons for the same.

If sources are to be believed then it has been found that NHS Lanarkshire has lost its 22 records, NHS Highland stands next in the row by misplacing 14 records and NHS Forth Valley as well as NHS Forth Valley has lost two records each.

The Scottish Liberal Democrats said, “It is simply not good enough for the health secretary to have a firm word with each health board in question and then move on”.
