Woollard Battles Suspension

A recent report claimed that Cardiologist and former Australian Medical Association president Keith Woollard would not be able to conduct a heart surgery unless being permitted to do so by his seniors. This action was taken by a report was filed against him, after which an investigation has been kick started on his conduct by the Medical Board of Australia.

He was charged of failing to administer anticoagulant before he performed an angioplasty, which led the entire case into scanner. It was only then the case was referred to the State Administrative Tribunal and subsequently, he was suspending. Unless, a review panel having cardiologists agrees to permit him for performing angioplasties, he would not be able to do so.

It is believed that few weeks back, Dr Woollard and his wife, who is a medical researcher, had settled down a claim against their son Luke filed by Kate Campbell. They had to shell out some $250,000 for the same after a District Court order in the month of March. With tough time haunting president Keith Woollard, it would be worth seeing how things go from here on and if and when he would be able to perform angioplasty.
