UNODC Report Warns Against Rising Scar Of Drugs

A recent report revealed that the number of illicit drug users is expected to rise by some 25% by 2050, thereby making it all the more warning for one and all. it has also been claimed by the UN's office on drugs and crime UNODC) that there are fair chances of women being the soft target this time as they are being given a lot more liberty at every step.

However, there might be drop in the demand of heroin and cocaine as there is reduced intake of the same in North America and western Europe. More or less, it would not be wrong to say that drug addiction has turned its side from developed countries to developing, thereby extending its wide scope to other countries too.

While dominance of cannabis would remain in the time to come, there are expectations of the sale of synthetic drugs and the non-medical use of prescription drugs might go up. As of now, there are some 27 million problem drug users including from the category of chronic heroin or cocaine users, thereby making it a lot more worrisome for countries around the world. There is need to sort this matter before things go out of control.
