Coming Christmas will bring a priceless gift as it has been reported that once-in-a-day pill is being developed by the researchers. The drug known as Enzalutamide would increase the life expectancy of the prostate cancer sufferers.

Data has been released which shows that the drug is effective in improving the life expectancy of the cancer patients. The drug would also prove effective in reduce unbearable pain succumbed by prostate cancer patients.

The manufacturer of the drug Astellas is proud of coming up with the unique pill. Astellas has filed an appeal to European Medicines Agency (EMA) for making the drug available for commercial usage. At the time of trial of the drug, Dr. Gerhardt Attard played an important role. The trail of the drug was carried out at the Institute for Cancer Research (ICR).

Dr. Gerhardt Attard informed that during the trial, the patients showed significant improvement in their health. He said, “It’s a major breakthrough as it offers a treatment option for patients who have few others available”.

The researchers are hopeful that in future they would be able to find a similar pill for women with advanced stage of breast cancer.
