Sunday’s Decision Blocks Mississippi Abortion Law Temporarily

Abortion still remains a hot topic in the state as Sunday’s decision by a federal judge has once again given relief to the operations of all the only abortion clinics serving in the region.

The decision has come from U. S. District Judge Mr. Daniel P. Jordan in Jackson, who has issued a temporary block over the enforcement of a Mississippi law introduced to stop the act of abortion in the state by closure of all the only abortion clinics running.

The Mississippi law has faced the temporary restraining order the same day it was about to take effect. The federal judge has set the next hearing over the case on July 11. Possibilities are higher that the decision can hear a decision a block for a longer time too.

"Though the debate over abortion continues, there exists legal precedent the court must follow," Mr. Jordan wrote.

According to the new law, it was set mandatory to be an obstetrician-gynecologist having privileges of getting their patients admitted to local hospitals prior performing any abortion procedures at such clinics.

Since enjoying any such privilege is a difficult task to obtain, it would have led to failure of many so-called professionals and thus resulting into closure of certain such types of businesses.
