NASA Researchers to Study Portals

NASA Researchers to Study Portals

For quite long, a researcher from the University of Iowa's Jack Scudder has been studying the magnetic connection between the Earth and the Sun. Recently, the researcher has come up with a new finding of X-points also known as portals.

The researcher informed that the X-points are formed when the Earth's magnetic fields mix-up with solar winds. The collision between the magnetic field of the Earth and the solar wind produces polar auroras.

The NASA researchers are planning to launch a new mission called Magnetospheric Multiscale Mission or MMS. The mission would be launched in 2014. The findings of the researcher would help in the mission.

It has been informed that four crafts would be sent to study the portals. Once one of the craft has found the portal, the other crafts would be informed and would be called for investigation of the portal. In science fictions, we have seen actors travelling huge difference between the stars. It is hoped that in the coming time, and with the help of the mission, the fiction would turn into reality. However, people would have to wait till 2014 to hear more about the mission plans.
