Clothing Puts Cancer Patients in Trouble

It has been revealed by a new report that people suffering from cancer often face a situation when they have to spend large on their clothing along with the medication.

Macmillan Cancer Support, which had recently conducted a research on cancer patients, has found that cancer makes people to grow imbalanced body shapes. And the same leads these patients to find their clothes unfit for them.

The reason behind change either in their body shape or weight may be a result of any of possible factors like surgery or steroid or hormonal therapies.

Surveying some 31,381 patients, who had received a funding from a charity between June 2011 and June 2012, the team discovered that almost half of them all demanded the money for buying new clothes.

A third of the total population in the UK tends to suffer from the fatal disease each year and hidden costs, including travelling and clothing, over medication charges make them suffer huge financial crisis.

'Clothing is one of a number of hidden costs cancer patients are burdened with at a time when, on average, their income halves and their outgoings rocket', the charity's chief executive Ciaran Devane affirmed.

It is thus that the group has been requesting patients to contact its helpline in case of a help related to any such matter.
