SA Aims to Deal with Cancer 'Explosion'

There is no doubt that non-communicable diseases have increased their web and that’s what has caused so much of buzz about the same of lately. "The whole world is going to experience an explosion of non-communicable diseases, among them cancer. Planning for cancer is very much planning for the future”, said SA Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, while making it loud and clear that the health care system is going through a tough time.

There is need to inject funds in the system so that a lot more is being done to deal with diseases like cancer in future. Apparently, the minister has been approached by the National Research Foundation (NRF) so that a cyclotron can be bought which would be able to done a lot in context of cancer. It is believed that the machine would be able to reduce tumours using proton therapy and that’s why such high expectations are being kept on the same.

Furthermore, there was a cancer registry brought in to track down those who are affected by cancer so that they are being treated on the priority basis. It is expected that the registry can make hell lot of difference in the way the disease is managed.
