David Peschek Joins THT’s Move

David Peschek, who is a music writer, has been urging all people in the UK to once get themselves checked in case of any doubt of HIV, a recent report reveals.

Peschek, who himself had been diagnosed of being positive for the virus in September 2006, suggests that it is better to get detected and treated than fearing the same.

July 4 was the 30th death anniversary of Terence Higgins who was the first ever person in Britain to have died of AIDS. The trust launched in his name then has found on the day this year that nearly 5000 people in Scotland have been suffering from the condition.

Also, around a fourth of all of them have supposedly not been diagnosed till date. Therefore, the Glasgow resident has been supporting the Terrence Higgins Trust that is aimed at raising awareness for early HIV testing as well as adopting safety measures like use of condoms to cut rates of infection.

"I am open with everyone about my HIV status. Not to speak about something is to collude with the idea it is unspeakable”, sources quoted Peschek as saying.

The report finds that the government has also been planning a similar campaign to be organized later this year so as to help eradicate the evil.
