The Chairman of HSE, Judith Hackitt, said, "Britain continues to have one of the lowest levels of workplace fatal injuries in Europe, part of a long term downward trend".

He further said that there is need to bring down the number of fatalities in the workplace. The Commercial Director of St John Ambulance, Richard Evens, has claimed that few or almost no improvement in the care of the workers has led to escalating number of fatalities in the workplace.

It has come to light that most of the fatalities in the work place have aroused from accidents. In most of the cases, a worker has got injured after falling from a height. There is need to ensure the safety of the workers at the workplace for better productivity.
