No doubt there has been so much of buzz about the Higgs boson and SudhirVempati, assistant professor of physics at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore, was no different. He was among those who tracked down every single development at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

Apparently, he has been working on an exotic topic called supersymmetry, and it has a major connection with the properties of the Higgs boson. It was claimed that in case the Higgs boson turned out to be bigger than 135 giga electron volts (GeV), his work would have been badly affected. However, it was not the case as it came out to have a mass of 125 GeV.

Though Supersymmetry ( SUSY) has no concrete proof available, it has an important role to play in theoretical physics. It is believed that there would be many physical theories tested in the time to come with the LHC which would surely gain the attention of scientific fraternity. Supersymmetry is already in trouble," says Vivek Sharma, professor of physics at the University of California in San Diego and a key experimentalist at LHC.

It is believed that emergence of the Higgs boson in just the beginning and there is a lot in store which might be able to unveil a lot about the physical world.
