Mutations responsible for causing Alzheimer produce a large amount of beta amyloid in the brain. This is a normal substance of brain that builds up in every head. What researchers have explored is that if a protective mutation is kicked into the brain that instead of increasing the beta amyloid production slows the same down, then very easily people can be saved from catching this mental disorder.

When people will make less of this normal substance then automatically the chances of getting hit by Alzheimer will reduce.

It was on Wednesday, when this latest discovery was published online in the journal Nature. It is for the first time, that such a study posing strong evidence against beta amyloid buildup as the main cause of Alzheimer has been published.
