Food Journal May Help Shed Extra Kilos

While there is hardly any doubt that people do try their best to shed extra flab, a recent research has claimed that small changes are required to bring about the changes. It has been claimed by a team from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle that maintaining a food journal can make hell lot of difference in one’s drive to lose weight.

For the research, the team reviewed what kind of impact does self-monitoring techniques have on obese women, and found that women who maintained the journals managed to lose some six pounds more than those who didn’t maintain any log of their food. Moreover, those women who had a combined meal, minimum once in a week, failed to reduce weight by five pounds.

"For individuals who are trying to lose weight, the No. 1 piece of advice based on these study results would be to keep a food journal to help meet daily calorie goals”, said Anne McTiernan, the Director of the Hutchinson Center's Prevention Center, who spearheaded the research.

It has been claimed that filing food journal would be able to make women realize what all they have consumed and what they must do in future to have a healthy life. There is dire need to take on the case of obesity before it becomes all the more complicated for one and all.
