The University of Sydney’s Pain Management Research Institute’s members have revealed a new strategy for patients of chronic pain, says a recent report, which is worth some $26-million.
The report finds that the new strategy has been developed with an aim to start early intervention, which is the only best way to cure any illness or pain. It is being said that the pain management services would largely improve with its introduction.
"I believe this is groundbreaking, because it really is the first time that I'm aware of any way that there has been such a coordinated focus on pain management”, said Health Minister Jillian Skinner.
With the release of this pioneering strategy, five new services meant for pain management would also start receiving funding. The new technique itself identifies people in need of an early treatment, thus, access by patients to treatment programs is being hoped to increase as well.
Further, Professor Michael Cousins has told that the device is to undergo a trial somewhere in the coming days, which would focus at injured workers. Sydney's Concord Hospital will be holding the same, following the success of which specialists would be trained to provide it, the report has concluded.
