If to agree with the condition being imposed by the Taliban militants, about 280,000 children living in northwest Pakistan, would have to bear the brunt. As per the warnings of Taliban activities, people living in areas of north western Pakistan should not give polio vaccine to children.

The World Health Organization has raised concerns on the same, and is of the view that a lot many children will get affected by the same. Therefore, it is important that the authorities concerned should take a suitable action on the same.

It has also been found that during the three week immunization programme, polio activists were not allowed to provide polio vaccine to children, who have been residing in North and South Waziristan.

Mazhar Nisar, who is health education adviser, said that they are hoping that conditions will improve in near future. In order to threaten people and officials related to the matter, Taliban militants have been firing at the borders of the north western Pakistan.

The United Nations said that they are trying to solve the matter and they also think that the activity is related to stop the polio campaign in the region. “We don’t know exactly why this shooting took place, but it is probably related to the polio-eradication program”, said Guido Sabatinelli, from the WHO.
