Health experts in England are highly concerned after seeing the denials to many girls by some schools to get a jab against cervical cancer, a recent report has unveiled.

However, every girl of age 12 and 13 years in all schools is offered the vaccine so as to enable her evade the deadly human papilloma virus or HPV. Also, the vaccine has even been decided to be extended to boys of this age group as well with the belief that girls would be more protected.

It is being seen but that school heads have been refusing or stopping some girls from getting the same. And the same is happening merely on the grounds of their religious beliefs, the report finds.

Claims are being made that Christian principles do not allow them to do so. It has been told that those girls not practicing sex outside marriage are not eligible to receive the vaccine. They say that the jab fights strains of HPV, which is spread through sexual activities. And these girls do not require the same.

Thus, some 24 schools in total 152 Primary Care Trust areas have also denied following the programme. But, health chiefs say the cancer kills some 1,000 women in the UK each year and therefore, the vaccine is a must to cut the same.
