Battle Resident Organizes Cuppa for Charity

A Blooming Great Tea Party was thrown by Jackie Tompsett, a resident of Battle, at her own house this week, which not only included gathering of all neighbours and friends, but also had fun with an aim to fight for a patrician cause, says a report revealed recently.

Marie Curie Cancer Care would have been extremely delighted with the woman’s efforts and others’ support, for the tea had been held for the charity only. It has been found that Jackie was determined to collect as much funds for the charity as possible. Since, the charity is working since prolonged years for cancer patients, their care and support of their families, the report finds.

Jackie was aware of the fact that the money raised by the tea party would also be invested in parts by Marie Curie, with some for further research into the disease and some other amount to provide free care to patients.

Thus only, she called up all her known people to participate in the event and make donations for cancer sufferers in some manner. The event had included cake weight guessing competition, a tombola stall and jewellery stall.

Some people even donated cakes to be sold as spares by the day end, says Jackie, and collectively some £200 was successfully raised by all.
