Medical professionals have recently noticed three strange reaction cases in the US, which they claim could be the result of a tick bite.

Yes, according to recent warnings that are coming from researchers, tick bites can trigger meat allergy in human beings and so they are suggesting people to beware if one has been bitten by any of the spidery creatures.

Scientists have learned the above findings after studying all the three cases of the strange reaction, in which the patients suffered severe symptoms but after several hours of consuming red meat. They noticed that the delayed allergic response has been the affect of a tick bite (they have specifically pointed the Lone Star tick as the culprit in all the mentioned cases).

In their explanations, researchers have cleared that a tick bite injects a carbohydrate compound into the bloodstream of the person (which is also found in meat), which further primes the immune system and it immediately starts reacting severely the next time it encounters the substance again.

The above research has been presented by Dr. Susan Wolver, from Virginia Commonwealth University, and colleagues in the Journal of Internal Medicine.

"Current guidance is to counsel patients to avoid all mammalian meat - beef, pork, lamb and venison," the researchers wrote.
