It took more than 370,000 signatures to convince, Los Angeles County officials to allow voters to cast a vote on whether or not, porn actors should use condoms. It’s been years that healthcare advocates have been forcing the authorities concerned to take out a rule in which porn actors have to use condoms, in order to prevent spreading HIV.

Michael Weinstein, who is the president of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, said that it would not be wrong to say that it is a historical day. He further affirmed that they would also be asking the authorities concerned to make sure that clean facilities are being provided to porn actors.

"As a matter of fairness, adult film performers should be entitled to the same clean and healthy work places the majority of Californians and Angelenos enjoy”, said Mark McGrath, who is a consultant with AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

Not many people are happy with the ordinance, and one among them is opposition. They are of the view that they will be organizing a campaign against the new rule and will also try that the voting is not being done.

Even, fraternity that represents porn industry has said that the actors are being regularly checked for HIV infection.
