Oliver Attacks David Beckham and Gary Lineker Over Endorsing Junk Food

A renowned chief, Jamie Oliver, has recently launched attack over David Beckham and Gary Lineker for endorsing junk food. Oliver for quite long has been promoting healthy eating habits in the schools with the aim of reducing the increased cases of obesity.

He was the one who forced the authorities to make nutritional meal compulsory in the school. Recently, he has criticized celebrities and athletes for endorsing the junk food. He has written a letter in which he asked the authorities not to include athletes in the promotion of junk food.

It is believed that kids are gett5ing wrong messages from their role models like David Beckham. A child viewing an advertisement of junk food endorsed by David Beckham is more likely to follow the product as well.

Therefore, the authorities have been asked to keep a tab over the advertisements of junk food. The letter written by Oliver has been published in the Time. In the letter, Oliver wrote, “On the eve of the London Olympics we, a group with a vested interest in improving the health and wellbeing of young people, express our grave concern about this trend”. Oliver is hopeful that the authorities would take a serious note of the letter.
