Scientists Imagine Moon Replaced by One of the Planets

Some scientists’ group focused on looking at what differences could have been seen, had the moon been replaced by some or the other planet in the solar system and has revealed the different observations made by it, a recent report finds.

The idea to delve into the same arose when one of the scientists imagined how the sky could have appeared at night, if a planet, either big or small, was there in place of moon to orbit the Earth.

Venus, says the team after the study, could have appeared just as Earth to Apollo astronauts for its size is almost three and a half times bigger than the Earth’s Size. Also, Saturn might have wrapped nearly 18 degrees of the whole sky with its 35 folds large size than Moon.

Further, had Jupiter been at Moon’s place, 40 times big than it, it could have appeared at the same distance as it is from its own satellite, says the team. Additionally, Neptune might have been seen as a giant blue balloon at night, making the sky look beautiful. And Saturn could be exactly same as Neptune.

The team concludes that nevertheless, moon is an only star that covers half degree in the sky and makes total solar eclipses possible with almost the same appearance as Sun.
