Brits Fail to Follow a Healthy Diet

As per a recent report, it has been found that a charity named British Heart Foundation (BHF) has been urging Brits to consume more fruits and vegetables than they usually do. It has been found by the charity members that the 'five-a-day' target is not being met by a majority.

The team had conducted a survey to determine if young people had shown any betterment in their food intake i. e. if they are following a healthy diet. And the figures shocked as well as concerned the team to the extremes.

Tracy Parker, a dietician, along with her colleagues had questioned young girls and boys of ages 11 to 18 years. It was discovered that almost merely 31% of them tended to have the recommended five portions per day. While the rest were relying on more consumption of saturated fat that is suggested to be taken in fewer amounts.

The ‘National Diet and Nutrition Survey’ has further revealed that Britons were also failing to eat the asked single portion of oily fish a week. Thus, a spokesman for health department insists, "The best way to maintain good nutritional status is a healthy balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle including getting some sun to help with vitamin D”.
