AIDS was discovered a long time ago, still, there are millions are affected with it and are not provided with its treatment. According to the figures, about one in four HIV-positive children is provided with the treatment. There is a need to make sure that all the children affected with AIDS and HIV is provided with the treatment and care.
During an interview, the Executive Vice-President of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Philip O’Brien said, “It’s a scandal that children are treated at half the rate of adults”. He openly criticized the authorities, saying that leaders are taking about AIDS free generation but are doing nothing to make it a reality.
UNAIDS has informed that all over the world, about 2.5 million are affected with HIV-AIDS. If lock at the overall figure of HIV infected people then one might fight a decline in the new cases of HIV. This clearly highlights that HIV prevention tools are working impeccably. But we also need to work towards saving children already affected with HIV-AIDS. In countries like Africa, the incidences of HIV are high. Unfortunately, women of such countries are not getting the adequate care.
