Japanese Researchers Design Swimming Robot; Lays Basis for Lifeguards

Oh what these robots can't do? They can easily cook; clean, perfectly perform any task programmed by their master. But these new class of robots can even swim! Surprising!

Researchers have designed a new robot which can very well copy back stroke swimming. It has been recovered that the piece of art has been developed by a team of researchers, led by Associate Professor Motomu Nakashima at Tokyo University of Technology. The team believes that their discovery will open new possibilities for the robots, now they can be even created as lifeguards.

This new idea will help create a new class of robots, which help patrol the shores and also help save lives of swimmers in danger. Further, these researchers believe that they can deploy robots like the 'Swumanoid' to have a better understanding in their research into swimming.

Researchers said, "It is difficult to secure motion-sensing pads to swimmers in the water, and it is also difficult for swimmers to perfectly repeat repetitive actions a number of times".

However, researchers hope that all these drawbacks can be overcome using Swumanoid, which will be able to perform all these activities very well. Rather, they will help the researchers to administer other aspects.
