A leading scientist has suggested a secret, which has been claimed to help a person sustain for long. It has been suggested that in order to live long, one should simply eat less.

Dr, Michael Mosley, host of show ‘Horizon’ on BBC, has highlighted that a research being carried out explains that as much energy a body utilizes for performing normal activities is directly linked to higher and early mortality rate.

Dr. Mosley emphasized that majority of communities developing in Japan and US, who stick to a strict and diet low in calories are actually the ones, who are living longer lives, in comparison to the worldwide population.

He said, “Ultimately, ageing is a product of a high metabolic rate, which in turn increases the number of free radicals we consume”.

Mosley further added that there was no need of eating three meals a day, as most of us believe that it’s a necessity, but instead it is not more than just a habit.

Moreover, during the program, he suggested that people can even consider fasting at times, which will provide them with the same results as those deployed after restricting their calories, which in turn limits the growth of hormone IGF-1. High levels of this hormone have been held responsible for cancer and ageing.
