C –Sec Births Raise Infection Risk for Women

A recent research finding has given one more point, as per which, women should try natural delivery over caesarean birth. It has been recently revealed that women undergoing caesarean section have been increasing their chances of getting infected.

The research findings, published in the British Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, have found that more infection chances have been seen among women, who are obese and overweight. Not only it raises the risk for mother and child, but infection also costs extra bucks to the NHS.

In order to reach at the above given result, the study researchers have assessed 400 infections among 4,000 caesarean births that have taken place in 2009. It was being revealed that majority of women were not being diagnosed with major infections, but some of them, whom were quite in problem.

Dr. Elizabeth Sheridan, who is the Healthcare Associated Infections, with the Health and Protection Agency (HPA), was of the view, "Women choosing to have caesarean section for non-medical reasons should be aware of the risk of infection, particularly if they are overweight".

It shall however, be noted that women, who look for temporary benefits in terms of delivery are likely to repay by having poor quality of life.
