A recent research has found that typical stem cells are responsible for causing cancer. It has also been found that these specific cells also lead to the growth to cancer, and this is the reason that the cancer returns after a while.

Not only one, but three different studies have been conducted, which have concluded the above as their findings. In order to reach at the above given result, the study researchers tested their hypothesis on mice.

Luis F. Parada, who is a molecular geneticist with the University of Texas, said, "With all the modern molecular techniques and modern approaches we have, we should be able to find their soft underbelly”.

It is not the first time when researchers have suggested that specific cancer cells are responsible for not only causing cancer, but are also involved in the growth of cancer. A lot many attempts have also been done, but none was able to prove the same.

It is now that the studies have taken place and they have been able to prove it. All the three studies have been published in the Journal Science and the Journal Nature. Now when it has become clear that specific cells are responsible for the growth of cancer, its treatment has to be found.
