Selflessness can play vital role in improving the organ donation and transplant. A large number of patients die every year while waiting for organ transplant. However, there are a few like Tom Cledwyn who has given up his selfishness to save a stranger's life.

He is a web designer and has taken a selflessness step to donate his kidney to a complete stranger. This year, Tom became one of the ‘altruistic donors’. There are only 100 British ‘altruistic donors’ who have helped in saving lives by donating their organs to strangers.

During an interview, Tom said, “I only know the vaguest detail about what happened to my kidney… I don’t find myself wondering about that. Just the fact that it went to someone who needed it is enough for me”.

Just like Tom, Honica Brittman from New York has also donated her organ for free to a stranger. On being interview she said that by donating an organ she isn’t losing anything. She further said that she feels proud of helping someone improving his or her life.

There are a few like tom and Honica Brittman who donate their organs to strangers. Every year, a number people succumb to dead while waiting for organ transplant. By donating organs one can help them live longer.
