It has been revealed in a recent report that being attacked by a porcupine, a bulldog named Bella Mae has had to undergo a surgery in emergency. As per the findings, she needed to get the quills removed from her face.

The bulldog, merely 3 years in age, was simply playing outside in Oklahoma near a pond when she accidentally got too close to the porcupine. It is being said that her accidental act only possibly led her to be attacked by the rodent, followed by 500 quills stuck in her face.

Some other pets, including two other dogs, were also a part of the assault, but Bella was heavily injured. The incident was immediately followed by taking her to a vet, who conducted the operation and took the quills one by one. The report says that even her neck, chest and legs had trapped the quills.

The operation, assisted by two nurses, went for a period of two hours, which has though successfully but painfully taken out the barbs. But, the bulldog has not fully recovered as yet as some quills are still being believed to be inside her. While the same are slowly being removed, she is on antibiotics at present.
