New Chemical Compound Found

Discovery of a new chemical compound has shocked international scientists. The chemical compound has been found by a team of international researchers. Roy Mauldin from the team of researchers said, “We have discovered a new and important, atmospherically relevant oxidant”.

It has been informed that the newly found chemical compound is a type of carbonyl oxide. The compound is said to be reactive when comes in contact with sulfur dioxide to form sulfur acid. The international team of researchers belonged to the Universities of Colorado Boulder and Helsinki.

In the atmosphere, Sulfuric acid is formed after a long term reaction between hydroxyl radical OH and sulfur dioxide. The researchers are now planning to launch further studies to gauge the reactivity of chemicals.

Researchers are of the view that their findings can help in unrevealing the mysteries behind the cool climates of some of the regions of the US. Moreover, it is believed that the finding of the chemical compound at southeastern United States could highlight the cool temperature of the regions, in the coming years. However, further studies are required to be conducted to draw a concrete conclusion.
