Nutritional Diet is Good for Children’s IQ

A recent study has found that toddlers who are offered junk food tend to have lower IQ levels as compared to those who have been brought up on healthy diet. The findings of the study are crucial as they inform parents as to why healthy food is good for the children.

The lead researcher of the study, Lisa Smithers said, “Diet supplies the nutrients needed for the development of brain tissues in the first two years of life, and the aim of this study was to look at what impact diet would have on children's IQs”.

The researchers of the study further noted that the nutritional diet plays vital role in the development of kids under the age of six to 24 months. Breast milk is yet again the richest source of nutrition for the kids. New mums have been advised to breast feed their infants.

The findings of the study have been published in the European Journal of Epidemiology. For the study, the researchers looked at the eating habits of 7,000 kids. The researchers found that kids who are breast fed for six months tend to be healthier. In the formative years of growth rich nutritional diet is must for the children.
