It’s all in the brain, and not in physical strength, says study researchers, who have tried to find out the reason of how karate experts break pile of bricks with bare hands. Study researchers from Britain were of the view that organ’s wiring witnesses change when one practices martial arts and karate for years.
The research, which has been published in the journal, Cerebral Cortex, was of the view that in order to reach at the above given result, the study researchers conducted a test in which they scanned the brains of two sets of people.
One set was of the students, who have been learning karate and other set was of the black belt champions. The study researchers said that they noticed a change in the white matter of those, who were champions. The change came at the time when then kicked hard at the bricks.
"We think that ability might be related to fine tuning of neural connections in the cerebellum (the part of the brain that governs motor control), allowing them to synchronize”, said Ed Roberts from Imperial College London and co-author of the study. Ed said that the changes were more among those, who have been practicing the form for a long time.
