A 2011 national survey recently carried out by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service has brought good news for one and all after a previous bad picture of small number of hunters and fishermen was released, a report has uncovered.

The latest survey of Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife-Associated Recreation has found that the number of hunting and fishing men has increased significantly. While fishermen have risen by some 11%, hunters on the contrary have shown an augment of 9% in their count.

It has been told by the investigating group that as compared to a survey conducted in the year 2006, the participants in 2011 were found to have increased by almost 2.6 million. Salazar is of the opinion that it is excellent as the same would be helpful for conservation heritage.

As per the findings, the group has been accrediting outdoor recreation and tourism for this big change in the existing scenario. Ken Salazar, Secretary of the Interior, thus affirmed, “It is vital that we continue to support policies and investments that help Americans get outside, learn to fish, or go hunting”.

It is being said that a few upcoming months would be seeing more details regarding the matter.
