Recently captured Burmese python in Everglades National Park, Florida, has given birth to a lot many controversies. The 17 feet, 7 inches long pregnant python had 87 eggs, but before it could birth to them, a group of researchers euthanized it.,
Their main aim of killing the snake was to study the same in detail. Kenneth Krysko, who is a snake expert and has been working with the Florida Museum of Natural History, was of the view that the specie is not a native breed of Florida and was being imported from other place.
However, the discovery of the same does have made them to think that the species was present in the region for a long time now. If the snake would not have been caught and euthanized then there were probable chances that it would have acted a threat for other wild life species. Without a doubt, humans could have also become its prey.
"It means these snakes are surviving a long time in the wild. There's nothing stopping them and the native wildlife are in trouble”, said Krysko.
There have been many instances during which these monstrous species got released in the jungles. Some of the reasons are release of animals by their owners and other times, they get realised from pet shops.
