Major supporters of Groupon Inc. that have stood by the company since a long time are planning to move out of the company, including Silicon Valley veteran Marc Andreessen. It is being suspected that they are also joining the group of investors, who no longer have confidence in companies, which they earlier believed would do wonders with the internet industry.

It has been reported that at least four major investors of the Groupon (US: GRPN), who were responsible for holding its stock during the daily transaction, before it was publicized, have sold their shares.

Since November, Groupon has been revealed to have suffered a major drop in the stock market value by more than three-quarters that costs around $10 billion.

A major decline in the stocks of Groupon and plunging shares of Facebook Inc and Zynga Inc. are reminding of the dot-com bust in 2000. However, the case of these companies is not similar to that of dot-com; they have enough revenues, which can help them even gain profit. However, at present the outcome is not equivalent to what it was being obtained earlier. Facebook is even facing a time of crisis, with its share values continuing to drop.
