Work Is Good For Mums, Says Study

Working mums often feel tired when they come back home from their office. But there is good news to cheer them up. A recent study has found that working mums are healthier as compared to stay at home mums.

The study was conducted by a team of researchers. For the study about 2,540 women were recruited. The researchers of the study further noted that working mums find it easy to cope up with mental stress especially faced during and after pregnancy.

Mums who return back to their job after having baby are healthier, both physically and mentally. Many mums work to raise money so that they could invest in the wellbeing of their children. But the job not only helps in raising money, it also help women in staying fit.

One of the researchers of the study, Frech said, “Work is good for your health, both mentally and physically. It gives women a sense of purpose, self-efficacy, control and autonomy. They have a place where they are an expert on something, and they're paid a wage”. For the study, the researchers studied mums with part time jobs, full time jobs and the stay at home mums as well. The findings are interesting as it highlights the way by which new mums could be helped in overcoming emotional trauma after pregnancy.
