Department of Public Health and Social Services has teamed up with U. S. Food and Drug Administration and International Distributors, Inc. of Guam, to recall the Daniella brand mangoes, which have been confirmed to be the reason behind the Salmonella cases reported in Canada.

Moreover, the infection is being suspected to be behind California cases and even some other cases administered in few other states.

The mangoes have been revealed to be sold to major retailers and wholesalers nationwide.

Customers are being warned that mangoes sold at Costco, Kroger and some Whole Foods stores in Colorado have been identified to be linked with Salmonella infection. The delivery was made to these retail stores between July 12 and Aug. 29

Further, for the safety of the consumers, details regarding the products have been given. It has been informed that the mangoes include Daniella brand stickers and mangoes with PLU numbers 3114, 4051, 4311, 4584 or 4959, have been recalled.

Splendid Products General Manager Larry Nienkerk, said “We want to let everyone know our top priority is public safety. We are working with all the government agencies that are involved. We didn’t want to wait”.

Health Department has affirmed that no cases of Salmonella infection are yet encountered.
