The study, which has been published in the International Journal of Cancer, was of the view that gardening, taking pet out for a walk and doing house hold work and other physical activities, are able to reduce the risk of breast cancer by 13%.

In order to reach at the above given conclusion, the study researchers have assessed 8,000 women. They have named the study as the European Prospective Investigation of Cancer (Epic), in which they have said that jogging helps in reducing the risk of breast cancer by 8%.

"Small changes in your daily routine can make all the difference, like taking the stairs instead of the lift or walking some of the way to work, school”, said Sara Hiom, who is the director of Cancer Research UK.

Dr. Emma Pennery, who is the clinical head of Breast Cancer Care, was of the view that yet again the importance of leading an active life has been established and especially for women.
